Parsippany, NJ — The rain didn’t stop Premier Health Associates from attending the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk this past weekend. PHA raised $1,577 at the event, contributing to a whopping total of over $675,000 raised at the Parsippany walk. Over 10,000 people participated in this year’s walk.
Making Strides walks were created by the American Cancer Society to unite communities across the country against breast cancer. Money raised at Making Strides events goes toward breast cancer research and providing patient services, such as free rides to chemo treatments and free places to stay near treatment.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer type found in women, apart from skin cancers. Regular mammograms and other screening tests can help find breast cancer before any symptoms appear. Early diagnosis can lead to more successful treatment outcomes.
